Episcopal Church

  • The Episcopal Church in the USA — denominational home page.

  • Worldwide Anglican Communion — The official home pages of the Worldwide Anglican Communion. Also of interest is a link to the Lambeth 1998 conference.

  • The Church of England — Introduction to the Church, including organization and history.

  • Archbishop of Canterbury's Pages — Includes biographical information on the current Archbishop, texts of his speeches, and a description of Lambeth Palace.

  • Book of Common Prayer — Versions of the 1928 and 1979 Book of Common Prayer for use in the U.S. Episcopal Church, as well as links to versions from 1786, 1789, and 1892. Also included are links to older versions, such as the 1549, 1552, 1559, and 1662 editions, and books from other parts of the Anglican Communion.

  • Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion — 1801. The Articles can also be found in the print copy of the 1979 Book of Common Prayer, shelved in the GTU Library Reference Collection (BX5943 .A1 1979).

  • Episcopal-Lutheran Concordat of Agreement — Complete text of the 1991 agreement, 1996 revision, and study materials. Also includes the complete text from April 1998 and the revision of November 1998 of Called to a Common Mission: A Lutheran Proposal for a Revision of the Concordat of Agreement.

  • An Anglican Liturgical Library — A collection of authorized and other texts used in the Church of England, the wider Anglican Communion, and elsewhere.

  • Common Worship: Services and Prayers for the Church of EnglandCommon Worship is the replacement for The Alternative Service Book 1980 (ASB). In addition to consolidating and revising the ASB, Common Worship contains new material, as well. Reference and circulating copies of Common Worship may also be found in the GTU Library (BX5145.6 .A4 S47 2000).

  • Lectionary Page — Lesson texts of the Episcopal (ECUSA) Lectionary.

  • Oremus Hymnal Page — Predominately of the Anglican tradition, this online hymnal features texts (and some MIDI files) of hymns used in the English speaking world.


Baptist

  • American Baptist Churches in the USA — denominational home page.

  • American Baptist Historical Society — The Library exists to document the history and thought of the Baptist movement in all of its forms. The Library is believed to hold the largest collection of Baptist related research materials in the world. It holds approximately 80,000 volumes, including over 500 volumes of original church records. More than 400 manuscript collections of Baptist ministers, missionaries, and scholars are kept here.


Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)


Lutheran

  • Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) — Resulted from a union of three North American Lutheran church bodies: The American Lutheran Church, the Association of Evangelical Lutheran Churches, and the Lutheran Church in America.

  • Lutheran World Federation — The LWF is a global communion of churches in the Lutheran tradition in all parts of the world.

  • Confession of Faith of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The Confession, which is part of the Constitution, Bylaws, and Continuing Resolutions of the ECLA, can also be found in the print volume, Report and Records: Assembly Minutes (BX8048.3 .A2 v.3 1995), shelved in the reference collection.

  • Episcopal-Lutheran Concordat of Agreement — Complete text of the 1991 agreement, 1996 revision, and study materials for proposed Concordat of Agreement between the Episcopal Church in the USA and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Also includes Called to Common Mission: A Lutheran Proposal for a Revision of the Concordat of Agreement.

  • Social Statements of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America which have been adopted as official social statements by more than two-thirds majority votes at the biennial Churchwide Assemblies. Included are such topics as abortion and the death penalty.


Methodist


Presbyterian

  • Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) — The denominational home page.

  • Presbyterian Confessions — Includes, among other things, the Scottish Confession of Faith, the Westminster Confession of Faith, and the United Presbyterian Church Confession of 1967.

  • Presbyterian Historical Society (PCUSA) — Serves the Office of the General Assembly. Holds archival records. Persons doing genealogical research on Presbyterian ministers or mission workers may contact this office.


United Church of Christ

  • United Church of Christ — Official site includes staff directories, links to UCC Conferences pages.

  • Testimonies of the Faith — Links to various documents, including the UCC Statement of Faith and the Preamble to the UCC Constitution.

  • Congregational Library and Archives — Library collects accounts of Congregational councils, local church histories, town histories, church architecture, printed sermons and hymnals. The archives collects material that documents the Congregational, Congregational Christian, Christian and United Church of Christ tradition throughout the world.

  • The Evangelical and Reformed Historical Society The Society is interested in the heritage of the Reformed Church in the United States, the Evangelical and Reformed Church, and the United Church of Christ.

  • Lutheran-Reformed Page — Text of the Formula of Agreement which establishes full communion between the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), the Reformed Church in America, and the United Church of Christ.
